I am considering signing up to an IPTV provider, but it seems this is only possible if I buy a mag322w1 box.
At the moment, I don't have any box, so I need to buy something; however, the mag322w1 has pretty bad reviews and means I would need a VPN router which is more kit to buy. Plus I would prefer something like an Nvidia Shield as it is more flexible.
I am new to all this. Is it normal that a provider can only use one box? And what might be the reason for this? Presumably there isn't a work around?
Edit - thanks for the replies. The reason I would like to use this provider is they seem to be extremely reliable with no downtime and, importantly for me, also offer two weeks of catch-up on all channels. I've just been a bit off by the requirement to buy a specific box.
In terms of negative reviews, there seems to be some glitch on the 322 and 324 that results in them freezing when the channels are changed. That said, if the provider is as reliable as I have been told, presumably it works for them.
I'd stay away, no provider is tied to one box. Mag boxes work well enough but the manufacturer of the hem is starting to put blocks on some IPTV providers which is probably where the a lot of it he negative reviews are coming from.
I have both a Formuler Z8 and an Nvidia Shield.
The Formuler Z8 is a better option for IPTV IMO, that's what it's made for. I also use it for YouTube, it's not so great for Netflix which is where my Shield comes in.
