My provider gives a unique link to xtreme editor where you can select the channels you want it to show, might be worth asking your provider if they do this.
No there is no way to hide categories on TV version.
Use m3u4u.com to upload your M3U and make any changes you like. Hide groups, rename channels, add logos, add EPG. It’s free and works great.
Isn't there like a site, where you can take the channels you don't want, basically making your own m3u link? Something like that. I don't remember. Anyone?
Use the favorites option for Smart IPTV, I use this all the time, helps a lot, you can also choose to save your favorites online as the TV app does not have a lot of resources to work with, favorites have always worked well for me.
What service you using? Can reseller customize your service? Majority of the service can.

look in settings for parental controls, and lock those groups you dont wanna see, thats what i did for both of my services
Ask him too do it for u on he's panel what u do for my customers
