Got a lot of shield fanboys in this sub, but I honestly prefer the z8 over anything else, it’s all about what works best for you and what your looking for. This is all pointless however considering from the beginning you have been leaning towards a shield, just buy a shield, like you have planned to do this whole time.

Image quality all the same. AI processing is marginal gain
I use a z8 to record using MYTV2 and watch through TiviMate which has shared config with some FireTVs (bedroom, cottage etc.)
I have all 3 and they all are great. If you like easy and just want to use for iptv, Z8, or , XRS4000 are the ones. I like the sheild better using implayer
My mi box has never dragged or have I ever had any issue with it suttering but what works for me might not work for others just was giving my opinion on it and u get what u pay for and what your budget is. I also use my nvidia shield on my 4k tv and have the mi box on a none 4k tv so I never tried running 4k content through the mi box
Found the Buzz TV boxes laggy and crashes. Z8 is rock solid.
Actually IPTV service providers don't recommending Shield Pro because they said , It is not dedicated device for IPTV so it will loose the quality of videos and channels . And it comes with free apps which have not any support and channels goes freeze .

If u want a good android box for a lot cheaper then the nvidia shield get a Xiaomi Mi Box S it's like $60 us and it's a google certified android box just like the nvidia shield. I have both and they r pretty much r the same picture quality
Your question was regarding picture quality. I have all 3 and agree the pic quality is very similar across the board. So if just based on pic quality then get the cheapest device. Personally I like the z8 out of all 3 if all youre doing is Iptv.
